DON MCLAIN - 25 Year Oil Executive in Africa Reveals Inside Skinny On Oil Situation - Born in Montgomery, Louisiana, Don McLain attended school in Atlanta, Louisiana. McLain has an Associates of Science degree from Grantham College of Engineering in Slidell, Louisiana. McLain is 52 years of age, is married and has two daughters. He joined the Air Force while still in high school and went directly into the service after graduation at the age of 17. McLain served four years as a Munitions Maintenance Specialist. His assignments in the Air Force varied from working with the development and testing of experimental munitions at Elgin Air Force base in Florida, to a two year front line deployment at Ramstein Air Force base in Germany. His last assignment was at Holloman Air Force base in New Mexico where he was the line supervisor in charge of supplying support munitions to White Sands Missile Range. After discharge from the Air Force McLain worked various jobs until he entered the oil field in the late seventies. He started his oil field career working offshore as a roustabout in the Gulf of Mexico. His oilfield career has taken him to some of the most remote spots in the world. In 1992 he went to Kuwait to help with the reconstruction of the Kuwaiti oil fields. The first few years were spent working in northern Kuwait on the border with Iraq. He had a ringside seat as the various bombing campaigns against Iraq were carried out. He witnessed the buildup of troops for the second Gulf war and was only pulled out of Kuwait days before the war started. McLain has over twenty-five years of experience in the oil field. McLain has backpacked across most of Europe and parts of Africa; and has flown around the world twice. He has lived in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and exotic locations such as the Marianas Islands in Micronesia. He has ridden shotgun on munitions shipments in Europe and worked with conventional and nuclear weapons. He has watched firefights on the Kuwait/Iraq border and missiles flying overhead. He has ridden out hurricanes at sea and ferocious storms in the Gulf of Alaska. He has had to evacuate rigs and countries and has been held hostage by striking African oil workers. He now divides his time between life in a drilling camp in Chad, where he braves malarial-infested terrain and renegade government insurgents, and a quiet life on a flower farm in south Texas with his beautiful and dynamically intelligent wife of 30 years, Suzie. – http://www.bluewaterseven.com/

His most recent book is "Dark Object", co-authored with Chris Styles, deals with the crash of a UFO into the water off of Shag Harbour , Nova Scotia on October 4, 1967. ELLEN WEST –Asperger’s Syndrome - Ellen is almost 58 year old, divorced woman who is the Mother of a son with Asperger's Syndrome. He also had many medical problems as an infant and young child, including a seizure disorder and numerous, lengthy hospitalizations for idiopathic medical challenges including four or five bouts with psuedomonas. ("Gram-negative bacilli, like psuedomonas, are also a problem. (Staining bacteria is done for identification purposes, and they are classified as gram-negative or gram-positive, depending on whether or not they hold the stain.) Psuedomonas are a likely cause of hospital-acquired pneumonias and patients may then develop acute respiratory distress. "The organisms make toxins," Dever explains, "but it is the inflammatory response to the infection that causes low blood pressure and organ failure. Even with appropriate antibiotics, you're sometimes not able to rescue the patient. If the organisms are resistant to antibiotics, the situation is even worse.”) Ellen believes that the medical field would have killed her son if she had let them. When David was four years old Ellen was told to institutionalize him because he was hallucinating and it would be the "most kind thing to do - to separate from him now as he will never be normal and is, most likely, a schizophrenic." It turned out that David was having temporal lobe seizures and once on the appropriate anti-convulsant, his hallucinations stopped. Ellen believes that children who come into the world "otherly gifted" should be dealt within as normal a fashion as possible. Being the Mother of a child who is a high-functioning autistic, Ellen has learned to deal effectively with the medical, legal and psychiatric communities. Ellen admits that she has made many, many mistakes, lost a marriage and was utterly exhausted all of the time until she simply said, "That is enough." Ellen began to pay attention to her own and her child's needs and disregarded all of the negativity surrounding her regarding her truly and profoundly gifted son. David is now almost 24 and shines brightly in his different but wonderful world.

ALFONS ALZEWSKI – Remembering September 11 2001 and Asking the Unanswered Questions - The September 11, 2001 attacks, referred to as 9/11, consisted of a series of coordinated terrorist suicide attacks by Islamic extremists on that date upon the United States of America. That morning nineteen terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. Each team of hijackers included a trained pilot. The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners (United Airlines Flight 175 and American Airlines Flight 11) into the World Trade Center in New York City, one plane into each tower (1 WTC and 2 WTC), resulting in the collapse of both buildings soon afterward and irreparable damage to nearby buildings. The hijackers crashed a third airliner (American Airlines Flight 77) into the Pentagon in Arlington County, Virginia, near Washington, D.C. Passengers and members of the flight crew on the fourth aircraft (United Airlines Flight 93) attempted to retake control of their plane from the hijackers; that plane crashed into a field near the town of Shanksville in rural Somerset County, Pennsylvania. In addition to the 19 hijackers, 2,974 people died as an immediate result of the attacks, and the death of at least one person from lung disease was ruled by a medical examiner to be a result of exposure to WTC dust. The campus went into lockdown, and as the gruesome events unfolded in Norris Hall, a group of journalism students trapped in a nearby building transmitted stories and updates to the student-run website, PlanetBlacksburg.com. Now, these students, together with their journalism instructor and members of the Virginia Tech community, have documented the events of that day. April 16th: Virginia Tech Remembers gives a voice to the students, faculty, and staff who lived through the shooting, and serves as a memorial for the 32 victims.
